  • Good evening, this is the Peterborough Amateur Radio Emergency Service net.
  • This net meets every Sunday evening at 8 pm local time on VE3PB0.
  • The net control station for this evening is VA/VE3_______,

  • Is there an ARES member who would like to function as assistant net control station?
  • (confirm) VA/VE3____, please copy net activities with me.
  • All members of the emergency service group are encouraged to participate and contribute to the activities of this net.
  • This net is a directed net, as it would be in an emergency and all traffic is passed through the net control station.
  • Please use your call sign to request net attention.
  • Stations, that have checked in are urged to stay on frequency for the duration of the directed net.
  • If you must leave, please inform the net control station before doing so.
  • Please have message forms, the Public Service Communications Manual and the Peterborough Emergency Communications Manual for Peterborough handy at your operating station.
  • The net's purpose is to test how many members could respond to an emergency communications request. It also serves as an exchange for ideas to help in preparation for emergency communications.
